Description

Frame Side

The Frame end consists of:

  • (1) Uniball
  • (2) CUB Bushings
  • (1) Long 20mm Misalignment Spacer
  • (1) Short 20mm Misalignment Spacer
  • (1) Safety Washer
  • (1) Snap Ring

To Replace this joint:

  1. Remove the snap ring and knock the existing “CUB” assembly out
  2. Assemble the CUB bushings to the uniball. These will be a VERY tight fit. Using a dead blow to assemble is how we do it in house.
  3. Press the new “CUB” assembly into the housing of the track bar.
  4. Place the safety washer (lip facing outward toward the snap ring) on top of the assembly and use a press to preload the joint and seat the snap ring to retain the assembly. MAKE SURE THE SNAP RING IS PROPERLY SEATED!!
  5. Assemble short spacer to the front of the installed joint and the long to the rear.
  6. Reinstall Track bar.

TORQUE VALUES:

  • 20mm Bolts: Tighten to 406 lb/ft.

Axle Side

The Axle end consists of:

  • (1) FK Bearing 1.25″ RHT Chromoly Heat treated heim joint
  • (1) JAMMIT Nut (FATB) OR Jam Nut (FPRB)
  • (1) Rubber Boot
  1. Before removing the old heim, measure the center to center of your bar to be replicated when you install the new joint. As loctite should’ve been used in the initial installation, heat the axle end to break the loctite and remove the axle end of the bar by un-threading it counter-clockwise. This will require the bar to be in a vice.
  2. With the original joint removed, inspect and clean the internal bar threads as much as you’re able to. If you have access to one, run a 1″-14 Tap into the end of the bar to prep the threads.
  3. Use the provided boot to cover the new Heim Joint, WD-40 Makes this easier.
  4. Coat the heim threads with red loctite and Install the JAMMIT(FATB)/Jam Nut(FPRB) all the way onto the heim shank.
  5. Thread the assembly into the bar until it matches your original measurement.
  6. Spin the jam nut to the end of the bar and torque to 250 lb/ft ensuring the two ends of the bar are perfectly perpendicular.
  7. 2.5″-3.5″ Lift: Install the upper Spacer MP-FPRB-17-TOPSPCR and lower MP-FPRB-17-BTMSPCR-2.5 spacers and reinstall the bar into the truck using NEW 7/8″ Hardware AS-FATB17-AXLEHDWR.
  8. 4.5″-5.5″ Lift: Install the upper Spacer MP-FPRB-17-TOPSPCR and lower MP-FPRB-17-BTMSPCR-4.5 spacers and reinstall the bar into the truck using NEW 7/8″ Hardware AS-FATB17-AXLEHDWR.

TORQUE VALUES:

  • 7/8″-14 x 6″ Tighten to 401 lb/ft.
